How does penis enlargement surgery work?

How does a penis enlargement work? It depends on a surgery type, but there are 4 basic steps that are followed in each penis enlargement surgical procedure. They include the following:

  • Anesthesia: after making body marking and final consultation with the surgeon, a patient goes to the operating room where he gets anesthesia. There may be local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia used. The general anesthesia requires the presence of an anaesthesiologist.
  • When the anesthesia starts to work, a surgeon makes the required incision. The incision lines and areas may differ depending on the type of the surgery. E.g. in fat transfer, the incisions are made on the tummy/thighs, in penile implants, they are made on the penis.
  • Enlarging the penis: now, a surgeon makes penis bigger – applies the technique which increases the penis length or girth (e.g. injecting fat, putting implants), or makes the penis look bigger (in e.g. suspensory ligament division).
  • Closing the incisions with sutures. The involved body parts are secured with stitches, tapes and/or bandages. Afterwards, a patient is moved to the post-op room to rest after the procedure.

The whole penis enlargement procedure takes from 40 minutes to 2 hours. It is a relatively quick procedure. Sometimes patients need to spend a night in the clinic, especially when general anesthesia is applied.
