When can I shower and bath after breast augmentation surgery?

Patients should wait a minimum 24 hours (better is waiting 48 hours) until they are taking a shower after breast augmentation. Taking a bath is possible about 2 weeks after the surgery. Using a sponge bath or washcloth is possible, yet should be very gentle. Women must remember to dry the chest area with a towel after every soaking / contact with water to prevent infections or wound healing problems. Jacuzzies or pools should be avoided for at least 4-6 weeks.
