What type of metal is used in dental crowns?

Metal dental crowns can be made of stainless steel or alloys of silver or gold with other elements like copper, palladium, platinum, nickel, or cobalt. Depending on the percentage of precious metals (silver or gold) these can be classified into three groups: High-noble alloys with over 60% of precious metals, Noble alloys with at least 25% of precious metals, and Non-noble metals made of less than 25% of precious metals.
