When are dental implants medically necessary?
An implant should be placed when there are diastemas (spaces between teeth) that are impossible to solve with fixed prostheses or orthodontic treatment when the patient has had bad experiences with dentures or does not want to wear removable prostheses when the patient does not want their adjacent teeth to be carved to act as abutments since they keep their teeth intact both functionally and aesthetically.
