What is non surgical blepharoplasty?
A non-surgical blepharoplasty is an alternative to eyelid surgery. The term ‘non-surgical’ means that the treatment does not involve incisions or stitches. A non-surgical blepharoplasty can usually only be used to plump up the skin thereby improving the appearance of wrinkles, crepey skin and bags. An eyelid lift without surgery is achieved by injecting various substances into the eye area.
These may be dermal fillers (skin-plumping solutions), botox and platelet-rich plasma – PRP (derived from the candidate’s own blood). In addition, radio frequency ( ultherapy and thermilight) may be used to stimulate collagen production. Laser therapy (including fractional/fractionated laser treatment) removes the upper layers of skin thus promoting the growth of new and rejuvenated skin cells. Laser skin lightening will help to banish eye bags, while hyaluronic acid fillers can help to plump up the under area of the eye and prevent that hollow look.
It should be noted that, unlike surgical treatments, these methods are not permanent solutions. The length of time that the effect of such a non-surgical treatment lasts varies from person to person, however it will be necessary to return for further treatments on a regular basis. Non invasive double eyelid surgery is a completely different procedure where a crease is formed in the eyelid. This is done by putting stitches ur sutures into the eyelid to create the crease. This procedure although semi-permanent can be reversed.
