Is gastric sleeve surgery safe?
Laparoscopic gastric sleeve is considered a safe surgery. Of course, as in any surgery, there is some risk of complications and infections, however, it is very low. What may influence the safety of the procedure is a patient’s engagement (following the pre-op diet, and post-op diet and activity recommendations) as well as the surgeon’s experience (the more experienced surgeon, the less risk of any complications).
