Why does your hair fall out after gastric sleeve?
It is estimated that about 40% of gastric sleeve patients experience hair loss after the surgery. The main reason for that is an enormous change in diet, food habits, substantial and rapid weight loss, and nutrition level changes. Usually, hair loss appears within the first 3-4 months after the surgery and should not last longer than up to the 6th month. If patients experience a significant hair loss after that time, they should look for a doctor’s advice.
