How long is liposuction recovery? Liposuction recovery time iss determined by the lipossuctio technique that is used and patient’s anatomy and care. However, it is estimated that the average liposuction recovery takes up to 4 weeks. Of course, patients are capable of getting back to normal much earlier, they can go back to work after 1-2 weeks. Special liposuction garment needs to be worn for the whole recovery time. Recovery time for liposuction is regarded as finished when the incissions are healed, all the brusiing and swelling is gone, and patients restore all of their activities (except from strenuous physical activity). Of course, the scar that may remain after the procedure takes much longer to heal – it is formed within 1-2 years.

The average recovery timeline is as follows:

• Week 1: patients feel pain and discomfort – painkillers are necessry, the swelling and bruising is the most intense, but patients are able to walk, do many of their daily activities
• Week 2: most patients can return to work, pain alleviates, physical activiy can be implemented gradually, bruising decreases
• Week 3-4: pain should subside, swelling and bruising is minimal, incisions should fully heal, exercising can be more intense, final results are visible.
