How to sleep after liposuction?
When patients get home after liposuction, they should start taking after surgery pain killers to alleviate pain and enable good sleeping. Usually, a surgeon prescribes strong pain killers so that patients do not feel pain during day or night. As for sleeping recommendations, patients should avoid laying flat (this position may put pressure on the stitches and incision sites and disturb the healing). They should put an extra pillow and get head elevated position. Also, turning and tossing is not recommended, as it may cause wounds to open or be pulled. Of course, patients cannot sleep on the operated area, so when tummy was addressed, they should sleep on the back, when back was addressed, they should sleep on the tummy. Patients can improve their sleeping thanks to wedge pillow, recliner chair, or practising some mind relaxation technique in the evening.
