What Not To Do After Rhinoplasty?

Strenuous activities and exercising should be avoided for the first three weeks after surgery, swimming for the first six weeks after surgery and contact sports for 4-6 months after surgery. Many surgeons also suggest desisting from sexual activity for the first three weeks. It is important, though, to move and walk as much as possible to prevent blood clots. Blowing your nose can be dangerous and wearing glasses will put undue pressure on the bridge of the nose, so these should be avoided. While the plaster cast remains on the nose, taking a shower is not permitted in case the cast gets wet. It is also advisable to avoid sun bathing, smoking and drinking alcohol. Makeup can delay the delicate healing process as can touching the nose.
