What is a non surgical tummy tuck?

A non surgical tummy tuck is a procedure which does not involve making incisions in the skin i.e. a non invasive tummy tuck. They are not always as effective as a surgical abdominoplasty, however they do provide a good tummy tuck alternative with little recovery time needed.

The non surgical tummy tuck cost is also less than for a more invasive procedure. Probably the most often performed is liposuction where in fact a tiny incision is made in the skin but it is subsequently hardly noticeable. Liposuction addresses the issue of excess fat but cannot rectify sagging skin. A newer procedure is laser liposuction or laser lipolysis – a tiny laser works under the skin to melt and suck out the fat. Fractional or fractionated laser treatment helps to regenerate skin and may be effective in the treatment of stretch marks. Ultrasonic liposuction also known as ultrasonic lipolysis liquifies fat cells before their removal as well, however it is achieved with ultrasound and ultrasonic waves (sometimes marketed as Vaser Liposuction). A similar procedure – ultrasonic cavitation – breaks apart the fatty deposits in the targeted area. No incisions are required and the treatment is usually cheaper than alternative liposuction methods.

Another tummy tuck alternative is the freezing of fat cells (often marketed as CoolSculpting). After the procedure the frozen fat cells die and are gradually absorbed by the body. This treatment is generally useful for those with small pockets of fat which cannot be removed by exercise or diet. Other treatments which may be helpful include using thermal energy to tighten the skin or equipment which induces muscle contractions – thereby toning the muscles much quicker and more effectively than by usual exercise.
