The first step is looking for an aesthetic dentist of your preference, then you will go to a first consultation where the dentist will check if dental veneers are an option for you or if you need previous dental work, if after that you are eligible for veneers, the dentist will take a scanner of your teeth and sent it to the laboratory where veneers are manufacture, once the veneers are ready, the dentist will simply prepare the teeth surface and bond the veneers. When enamel removal is required, the dentist will remove it before taking the scanner to send to the laboratory and while your permanent veneers are ready, you will have to use temporary veneers. Composite veneers can be made in the consultation, directly over the patient teeth, this is known as direct technique, but is not that popular nowadays.
